Keep reading for some of our favorite manufacturing ergonomics best practices and to learn how Amigo Mobility’s Industrial Product Line can help your employees stay safe and productive.
Lifting & Moving
1. Lifting Aids and Assist Devices
Bending, twisting and squatting along with other awkward positions are the most common cause of lifting injuries for employees. Lifting Aids can reduce the awkward positions by replacing the movement in the process. By employing mechanical devices to lift your products, you’ll greatly reduce the force on employee bodies. Remember when lifting to also:
- Use mechanical means when possible.
- It is safer to push than pull.
- Keep the load close to the body when carrying, and avoid twisting.
- Minimize reaching.
- Bend at the knees, not the hips.
- Utilize proper handholds when lifting.
2. Transportation Devices
Instead of lifting, carrying, pushing or dragging materials these tools will remove the need to manually transport materials.

Pushing & Pulling
Pushing and pulling will always exist on the manufacturing floor. We know, we even see it on ours. However there are ways to improve practices. Maybe even utilize Amigo products for it?
- Pushing rather than pulling uses the muscles of our bodies that are better for the job, like your back and legs.
- Preform regular maintenance on your material handling carts.
- Focus on the wheels of your material handling carts.
- Powered material options will take even more strain and struggle off your employees.
