Team Amigo Learns to Walk This Way
Friendly Wheels, Issue 83
With Amigo owner Ronnie Bachman
At the beginning of December, Team Amigo was lucky enough to spend the day with Amigo owner Ronnie Bachman learning to Walk This Way.
Ronnie visited Amigo during a short break from traveling to schools around the country, where he teaches about the effects of bullying and the importance of embracing life, even through tough times.
By the end of his visit, Ronnie had everyone at Amigo on their feet repeating the phrase, “I love me. I respect me. I admire me.”
In additional to his busy touring schedule, Ronnie recently released his first book, called Walk This Way: Life Lessons for Dealing with Bullies and Bad Times.
In the book’s foreword, Ronnie’s daughter Alicia writes, “With all of his success, in my opinion his greatest ability was and is being a parent — and now a grandparent.”
Through writing, Ronnie gives a glance at his life growing up and raising a daughter as a single dad while walking on his hands. Though things weren’t always easy, he shares many examples of how he stayed positive and kept moving forward.
Writing with middle school students in mind, his goal for the book is to teach people how to embrace the good things in life while pushing through the bad.
Throughout his years of touring, Ronnie has found kids who are struggling at every stop. “Last year I did 207 shows in 14 states — this is happening in every single school, in every single community, in every single state I visit,” Ronnie said. “In my show, I share lessons to prepare kids to walk through every stage of life with confidence, courage and kindness.”
When faced with life’s challenges, Ronnie encourages people to see potential in every adversity and choose their own path in life.
“You don’t have to do it her way, you don’t have to do it my way — you’ll do it your way,” Ronnie said. “The important thing is that you do it, and you don’t stop.”
With the start of 2015, Ronnie is gearing up for another busy year of touring, starting in Boca Raton, Fla. “There’s nothing better in the world than what I do for a living, and there’s no one luckier than me,” Ronnie said.
