My husband, Dave, and I LOVE to get away for a vacation, but leaving the comforts and accessibility of home means thinking about the logistics of getting me (in my 3-wheeled Amigo POV/scooter, along with our luggage) through security and on to a plane. This can be somewhat stressful. For people who are experiencing limitations of any kind, traveling today can be very difficult.  As my 86 year-old mother says, "the spirit is willing, but the body has other plans."

The Web site stopmedicarefraud.gov by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Justice has tips for working with a reputable and trustworthy company. The site recommends to "Be suspicious of anyone who offers you free medical equipment or services and then requests your Medicare number."

Leonardo Camargo is determined to make a difference in his community. In high school he was actively involved in his school -- a National Hispanic Scholar, student body president, MVP and captain on his soccer team. After graduating from Palma High in Salinas, Calif. Leonardo went to Santa Clara University where his active involvement in school continued.
