Looking for even more coloring options for your children with disabilites? Sue Nuenke has been making stickers and coloring books since 2007. When she adopted her son Christopher in 1985, they didn’t know he had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, they wouldn’t for three more years. The disease causes rapid muscle weakness and muscle tissue loss.
Christopher and Sue realized there were very few coloring pages or books that featured children with disabilities. With the help of her son, she drew images of children in wheelchairs, Amigos, and uses walkers. Soon, The Popping Wheelies Coloring Book was created!
Before he passed in 2011, the duo wrote “DMD and Me,” to bring more awareness about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
