Who We Are

Al Thieme, Chairman and Founder
Al Thieme founded Amigo Mobility International, Inc. in 1968 with the invention of the first power-operated vehicle (POV)/scooter. The device was named the Amigo for being such a friend to people with disabilities, and the mobility POV/scooter industry was born. Running his own business as a plumbing and heating contractor at the time, Al has received the best education possible -- through hands-on experience and hard work. From a plumber to National Small Businessman of the Year, he is a true American success story. His tireless drive to improve the lives of customers inspires others to find a better way. In May of 2012, the Thiemes were named Michigan Manufacturer of the Year by the Michigan Manufacturer's Association.

Beth Thieme, CEO
With more than 36 years of experience with Amigo Mobility, Beth Thieme has had a role in nearly every department, from purchasing to sales. While running the company with her husband Al, Beth oversees commercial sales and has tripled sales in the past five years. Her passion for Amigo and the community keeps her very active. Beth is currently vice-chair of the Stevens Center for Family Business and serves on the Advisory Council for the Saginaw Valley State University College of Business & Management. In 2009, Beth also received the Top Women in Grocery award. In May of 2012, the Thiemes were named Michigan Manufacturer of the Year by the Michigan Manufacturer's Association.

Tim Drumhiller, President
Tim Drumhiller never shies away from a new opportunity. A graduate of Michigan State University, Tim moved to the Great Lakes Bay area in 1986 as the 11th employee of his family's consumer products based business, Optico Manufacturing. Growing Optico to a national business with an expanding product line, the business was sold in 1999 with more than 150 employees. Drawing inspiration from his father-in-law and business founder Len Williams, Tim helped lead the family's next business, Lendell Manufacturing, to year over year record breaking sales before selling the specialty polyurethane foam business in late 2008. With diverse leadership experience in product development, sales, distribution and strategic team building, Tim's passion remains creating growth through people and products.
